In the wake of massive protests from certain groups that resulted in the Tamil Nadu government banning his latest film “Vishwaroopam”, Kamal Haasan has decided to replace the controversial scenes with new ones in which members of the very same groups will be shown agitating for banning movies that contain scenes which may hurt the sentiments of a community.
“That’s right. These groups came up to me and said that some of scenes portray the entire community that they claim to represent as terrorists. So in a bid to placate these groups, I will replace the said scenes with new ones showing these groups blocking the screening of movies that contain scenes propagating negative community stereotypes. Hopefully, these groups won’t protest after that since they can’t accuse me of incorrect portrayal and I can then release my movie,” Haasan told The UnReal Times correspondent Anbazhagan Selvarasu.
The move has delighted Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde. “Wow yaar. BJP and right-wing groups are protesting against me for my statements on terror. All I need to say is that in addition to fomenting terror, such groups also protest against remarks on their fomenting of terror. That will force them to back off. Kamal Haasan, you genius,” Shinde is supposed to have exclaimed.
In related news, JuD leader, Hafiz Saeed lambasted the TN govt for restraining Kamal Haasan from releasing his movie. However, later he retracted his statement, saying it was a case of mistaken ethnicity and praised the TN government.
