Google celebrates Arnab Goswami’s birthday with a special doodle

Known for its endearing and widely-looked-forward-to “doodles” to mark special occasions, search engine giant Google Inc has come up with a special doodle to celebrate the birthday of Times Now’s editor-in-chief, Arnab Goswami.

The doodle was uploaded on google.co.in late this morning, after it was designed by a Google engineer from its India office, SEO Selvaganesh, who’s also a die-hard fan of Arnab Goswami. Addressing a press conference, Selvaganesh said, “First of all, we wish his majesty, Mr. Goswami a very happy birthday. We’re hereby honouring him with this doodle that I came up with. What sets this doodle apart from the others that we’ve done, is that it won’t let you complete your search phrase. The moment you type a character, it will show you search results. It won’t let you talk either. You can try this out – connect your microphone and try saying something in the voice-search. It will respond to you even before you complete a word. We couldn’t find a better way to honor Mr. Goswami than this.”

The doodle is also supposed to have greatly impressed Google co-founder, Sergey Brin. “It’s a great doodle. We have already received positive feedback, particularly from this B-grade Indian actor, who emailed me saying ‘What an idea, Sergey!’,” Brin said.

Arnab Goswami hasn’t released an official statement on this yet, but did invite Sergey Brin as a panelist to a special show of Newshour a couple of hours after the doodle came online. A minute into the show, Arnab held up a piece of paper in his hands and exclaimed, “Mr. Brin, in my hands, I have this sheet of paper which contains a snapshot of…”
