As the results of the TIME magazine’s annual “Person of the year” approach, it is time for us at The UnReal Times too, to present our version.
Following are the nominees for the URT Person Of The Year award.

1. The Ashutosh
From becoming an English superstar on Twitter to protesting peacefully by climbing the walls of the BJP headquarters, The Ashutosh has become more popular than he ever was as a journalist. So much so, that questioning his popularity now will be like questioning the beauty of the Taj Mahal.
Will The Ashutosh win the award or not? Will the Modi answer???
2. Rahul Gandhi
From contributing to one of the greatest interviews of all times with Arnab Goswami to grinning more widely than ever after the Congress got demolished to a paltry 44 seats in the Lok Sabha elections 2014, the Nehru-Gandhi scion has become more legendary than ever this year. Vote for Rahul Gandhi, if you wish to use RTI to empower women and open the system to the youth with the escape velocity of Jupiter.
3. Arvind Kejriwal
From being the beacon of hope of a good future for India once upon a time to someone who would, in all probability, label us as Ambani-Adani agents if he doesn’t win this award, Arvind Kejriwal has come, turned around and gone back a long way.
4. Americai Narayanan
Whether he becomes the URT Person Of The Year or not, he undoubtedly is Twitter’s overnight superstar of the year, ruling the micro-blogging platform for two full days, with just two words – HELL YEAH.
Look into his eyes and vote for him, if you think he deserves it.
5. Arnab Goswami
What would the nation do without him? If it weren’t for the nation’s one-man judge, jury and executioner, one would’ve hardly discovered gems like Sanjay Jha, Gaurav Bhatia, Sambit Patra, Americai Narayanan among many others. With a voice that only seems to be getting louder with time, Arnab sure stands a chance of blasting his way through to win this award. Vote for Arnab if you think he deserves the award. Else, feel free to call him a liar.
6. Azam Khan
If you were touched by Azam Khan’s concern for his buffaloes, or amazed by his determination to travel around the world, please feel free to vote for him.
If he wins this award, it automatically goes to the Waqf Board. Otherwise, you know, it is because he is Muslim.
7. Smriti Irani
Well, whether you vote for her or not, Smriti Irani’s astrologer has predicted that she will win this award someday. So she’s not worried.
Go ahead and vote for this distinguished Yale alumnus, if you think she deserves it. (Madhu Kishwar won’t, we know)
For all you know, you might end up with a free saree if you do, even if you aren’t in Amethi.
8. Sagarika Ghose
The inventor of “Internet Hindus” continues to charm Twitter with more and more amazing tweets.
Vote for Sagarika if you want to see the first Non-Jat, Non-Maratha URT Person Of The Year!
Also, if you’re secular, you better vote for Azam Khan too, once you’re done voting for Sagarika.
9. N Srinivasan
It hasn’t been the best year for Srini mama, from having to step aside from being the BCCI president due to a cricket enthusiast of a son-in-law, to receiving harsh criticism from the Supreme Court for inaction.
But he’s still around and he will very much be around and that’s what fascinates people.
So those of you who want to make this year a better one for Srini mama, do vote for him.
10. Rajdeep Sardesai
Why should you vote for him? Read his book!
That’s all. Otherwise, you’re a classless @$$#0le.
There are chances of him winning this award, so haters can get ready with some Burnol.
