In what seems to be one of the biggest auctions in recent times, the fallen wisdom tooth of controversial footballer Luis Suarez is all set to go under the hammer, for what experts predict could be a price in the billion dollar ballpark.
“Years ago, when I extracted this tooth from this little boy, I never knew I would be in possession of something that’s worth whatever people are speculating today. Only recently did I realize that Luis Suarez was someone I had treated once and thankfully, after going through my shelves, I found it. It was like winning a lottery,” Dr. A. Nehra, Suarez’ dentist told The UnReal Times.
“It all happened when his family members came to me asking them to make his teeth a bit blunt, as he was chewing away on anything and everything. I told them that it is his gift from God and cannot be taken away. But I did extract his wisdom tooth, though. Come to think of it, he seems to have lost all wisdom after that,” Dr.Nehra laughed.
The auction will witness several billionaires from all over the world, including India’s very own Mukesh Ambani, if rumour mills are anything to go by. Sources added that a team of Goa MLAs has also expressed interest in flying to Uruguay in order to study the wisdom tooth and whether it would be of any worth for the state’s tourism. Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar reportedly said that the tour would be decided depending on the outrage levels of the nation Arnab Goswami. Liquor baron Vijay Mallya, too, has expressed interest in purchasing the tooth, despite angry protests from the employees of Kingfisher Airlines. “The Suarez tooth will find pride of place next to the sword of Tipu Sultan in my collection. I will dedicate this precious relic to the nation,” Mallya boasted.
Sources added that the elephant poaching industry in India also is interested in procuring the Suarez tooth, even if it means trading a large number of elephant tusks for the same.
PS – In what could drastically alter the scheme of things, it has just been discovered that Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has already allocated INR 100 crore in the Union Budget towards procuring the tooth.
